Developing apps to make history in Glasgow

September 26th, 2014

Scotland has a proud industrial history – and Glasgow shipbuilding is at the heart of that. These days, you’re more likely to find cool tech companies on the banks of the Clyde – but with the help of Sharp Apps, today’s technology is bringing the past to life.

We’re proud to be developing six apps for the Fairfield Regeneration Project (supported by footie legend and ‘son’ of Govan, Sir Alex Ferguson) located in Glasgow’s Govan – once home to some of the world’s greatest shipbuilders.

The project, which sees the old shipbuilding offices being turned into office and community spaces, will also feature a heritage museum, where touch-screen tablet apps, developed by us, will tell the story of the shipyards through pictures, videos and interactive maps. There’ll be more news on this in October; keep your eyes peeled.
